How to fix blank screens on Display Capture

This problem occurs in certain laptops with multiple graphics cards. Your computer needs to be configured to use the correct GPU. Before doing anything, make sure your graphics drivers are up-to-date. Also, make sure you selected the correct monitor (in Settings) if you have multiple monitors.

Step 1

Open up "Graphics Settings" from your Windows Start Menu, click Browse under "Classic App" and paste the following into the file path.
Then, select the "obs64.exe" file.

Step 2

You should then see something like this.Select "Power Saving" and hit Save. ("High Performance" is for Game Capture)

Step 3

Go back to Lowkey and do Ctrl + R to refresh (no need to quit the app). You need to refresh or else changes won't take effect. Now try recording a new test recording and you should be good!

If you're on Windows 8.1 or lower...

Double or triple check that your Nvidia or AMD graphic drivers are up-to-date. Outdated drivers cause many unforeseen consequences.

If you have an NVIDIA card...
- Open the NVIDIA control panel, and select "3D Settings" on the left-hand pane.
- Select "Program Settings" on the right-hand pane.
- Choose obs64.exe from the list of programs, and click 'Add.'
- Ensure 'High-performance NVIDIA processor' is selected, and click 'Apply.'
